Ignalina NPP: In 2011 2 590 tones of equipment are to be dismantled

In August-December 2010 four auctions have been organized for realization of unnecessary property. During these auctions various scrap metal was sold for 1.7 million Litas, while various equipment was sold for 0.8 million Litas. In total 1 700 tons of metal were sold.
Ignalina NPP organizes open and public auctions with participation of local and foreign companies and the enterprise gains the best price for the scrap metal which is currently in the world market.
During four months in 2010 the state enterprise Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant has sold the property unnecessary for the enterprise formed during implementation of the decommissioning projects for more than 2.584 million Lt (it was planned to sell the property for 2 million Litas). The money received will be used for the decommissioning activity financing.
In order to ensure the most effective use of the money of the enterprise and to manage the property, Ignalina NPP management has taken all the measures to ensure the transparency of public procurements and the procedures of auctions. It is expected that it will encourage Lithuanian and foreign businesses to take an active part in the INPP announced public procurement tenders and property selling auctions.
