TNK-BP’s program of corporate awards, which is being developed for the last seven years, is intended for identification and stimulation of best solutions and initiatives of TNK-BP employees oriented to higher safety of work and innovative development of the company. Activity and innovative spirit of employees and coordinated teamwork of interdisciplinary project teams are essential for attaining the strategic goal of TNK-BP – becoming a world-class oil and gas company.
83 teams from all regions of company presence sent their applications for participation in the program, and 20 teams took part in the final stage of best projects. After careful selection, the contest committee picked two winners and nine laureates.
The project “Integration of Initiatives Aimed at More Efficient Reclamation of Inherited Oil-Contaminated Lands” was named the best project in the field of health, safety and environmental protection.
The laureates of this contest were the project “Integrated Approach to Safety. Safety 24/7 Project” (OJSC TNK-BP Management), the video film “We Know What Saved Us” (OJSC TNK-BP Management), the project for cooperation of TNK-BP subsidiaries, constituent entities of the Russian Federation, and special bases of the Ministry of Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Relief for cleanup of oil spills in internal water bodies (OJSC Saratov Oil Refinery), and the project “Compliance with the Minimum Requirements of TNK-BP to Pipeline Failures (LLC Buguruslanneft).
The project “Integration of the Intelligent Field Technology” presented by specialists of the target subsidiary OJSC Samotlorneftegaz and the Technology Division, Upstream (Nizhnevartovsk) came out the winner of the technology contest. In 2009–2010, the project team successfully implemented the intelligent field technology in the Samotlor field, which may also be applied to other producing assets of the company.
The laureates of this contest were the project “A New Approach to Water-Flooding of Reservoir AV1(1-2) Ryabchik” (regional subdivision of the West Siberia Division, subsidiary of OJSC TNK-BP Management), the project for improving the quality of diesel fuel to the Euro 4 standards (CJSC LINIK), the project “A New Approach to Extraction of Hard-to-Recover Reserves of Reservoir AV1(1-2) Ryabchik” (OJSC TNK-Nizhnevartovsk), and the project “Reduction of Power Consumption in Artificial Lifting” (Wellwork Department, Technology Division, Upstream (Nizhnevartovsk)).
