The sealed enclosures system testing, held from January, 2011, is one of the most important stages in the process of which the quality of the construction and installation works for erection of power unit No. 4 reactor section sealed cover was being proved. In the process of testing the sealed enclosures system strength was tested by means of excessive inner pressure of 4.6 atmospheres, and its density was tested on several levels of excessive pressure inside the SES.
As Valery I. Limarenko, NIAEP OJSC Director, noted, the testing had been held earlier than the target data, and was successful: “We formed a kind of time reserve. That was done for making it more convenient in the future to perform a number of engineering technological tasks. Actually, we opened the start-up works at power unit No. 4 by means of the open reactor spillage. And today, along with the installers, those who started-up the power unit become the main persons of the plant”.
The participants of the operating staff meeting discussed the current situation at the construction site on the whole, summarized results of the schedule fulfillment and outlined the basic tasks for February. Thus, in January, 2011 the schedule of construction and installation works was accomplished by 105%, schedule on equipment – by 100%.
The main objectives of February are: providing the readiness of the main circulating pump (MCP) oil system for oil supply; the automated fire fighting system delivery; performing the installation of one portable part of MCP, pipeline installation, and a number of others.
