OJSC “Kuzbasskaya Toplivnaya Company” has concluded a contract for coal supply with Fortum, Russian subdivision of Finnish energy group

In 2010 OJSC “Fortum” has made an experimental burn of Kuzbass coal, produced by OJSC “Kuzbasskaya Toplivnaya Company”. Tests and equipment setting proved that coal, produced by OJSC “KTK”, was suitable in the best way as an alternative for local lignite of Chelyabinsk Basin. Concentration of nitrogen oxides in Kuzbass coal is lower almost by 40 %, sulfur oxides – by 6 %, flue dust – by 2.5 times. As a result, the ecological performance of the Power Station will improve significantly.
