The capacity of the first line of the power plant is 20 MW. Launch of the second line with a capacity of 35 MW is scheduled for 2012. Total investments into the project will amount to approximately 3.9 billion rubles.
The Ust-Tegussk gas-turbine power plant will supply power to the oil production facilities of Eastern Uvat fields that have no access to the power supply infrastructure and are operated autonomously. Captive power generation will considerably cut down the power costs of TNK-BP.
The first line of the power plant will use up to 50 million cubic meters of gas a year, raise the level of associated petroleum gas utilization from 15% up to 40%, and supply power to Eastern Uvat fields in 2011–2012. Launch of the second line will raise the level of associated petroleum gas utilization up to 95%.
The Ust-Tegussk gas-turbine power plant is unique in its adaptation to conditions of extremely low temperatures and practically complete absence of external power supply and transportation and industrial infrastructure.
