High Level of TATNEFT’s Technical Solutions Has Been Confirmed in the Near Abroad

Марта 09, 2011

OAO TATNEFT has become a holder of the invention patent "Drive of the downhole sucker rod pump”. Patent No. 18931 has been issued by the Committee on Intellectual Property Rights of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and it is the basis of legal support for the export of drives and the sale of licenses, also providing for an international priority of OAO TATNEFT’s technical solution.

The patented invention is a chain drive of PTs80-6-1/4 model. One of the advantages of the invention as compared to a conventional sucker rod pumping unit is reduction of dynamic loads and specific power consumption to lift production in comparison with submersible centrifugal pump (ESP) units. Chain drives allow the application of sucker rod pumps in wells with additional small diameter production casings without sacrificing productivity; enable artificial production of deep and high flow rate producers, including the ones handling high-viscosity products.
Technological and economic efficiency of the chain drives application at the wells is achieved through reducing a number of remedial well servicing operations and saving electricity consumption.
These chain drives of the downhole sucker rod pumps are successfully applied in the wells of OAO TATNEFT (in aggregate 290 chain drives have been introduced), 10 chain drives are operated in the Western Siberia fields.
In 2005, OAO TATNEFT delivered to Kazakhstan five chain drives PTs60-3-0,5/2,5 intended for operation in the wells with the production rate of up to 20 m3/day, including the wells with high-viscosity products. The plans provide for supplying five more chain drive units of PTs80-6-1/4 model by the end of March 2011.
