Opening the ceremony, Mr. Torgeir Kydland, Statoil Senior Vice President in charge of Eurasia, Middle East and Asia in International Exploration & Production, spoke about the content of the event. According to him, multimedia exhibition on the Nobels and Baku Oil, which is successfully demonstrated for two years in various countries of the world, was included in the event agenda. It was pointed out that the above-mentioned exhibitions held a special place in Statoil art programmes. The first photo documentary, art and digital exhibition dedicated to the 15th year of the contract of the century and the 130th anniversary of the Nobel Brothers’ activity in Azerbaijan and organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan, StatoilHydro Absheron and the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic. Afterwards, SOCAR Vice-president on Human Resources, Regime and Information Technologies Mr. Khalik Mammadov gave information about the history of Azerbaijani oil. Speaking at the event, Ms. Amina Malikova, chief of Innovations Department of Azerbaijan State Museum of Art, mentioned that one of the main purposes of the Nobels and Baku Oil project was delivering to the world community the close relationships of Nobel name with Azerbaijan. Opening the second part of the event, Mr. Lars Troen, President of Statoil in Azerbaijan, gave detailed information about Company’s activities in the country. Statoil representatives in Azerbaijan presented “Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli” and “Shah Deniz” projects on phases. “Shah Deniz” film made by BP was also showed at the ceremony. The representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan attended the event as well.
