Gazprom Neft launches its own brand of fuel - G-Drive

Апреля 12, 2011

Gazprom Neft has launched a new motor fuel under the brand of G-Drive, which it will sell through its own network of petrol stations. The sales of the premium-class fuel has already commenced at petrol stations in St Petersburg. By the end of 2011, Gazprom Neft plans to make the new engine fuel G-Drive available at petrol stations in all key regions where the company operates.

The new G-Drive fuel, with an octane rating of 95, has enhanced performance characteristics compared to regular AI-95 petrol and contains an active complex of the latest generation of additives, which both improve engine efficiency by increasing the vehicle's power and acceleration dynamics, whilst providing high-end protection to petrol-engine fuel systems. Using G-Drive petrol contributes to a reduction in fuel spend and a decrease in hazardous substances in vehicle emissions. In particular, the carbon monoxide content in emissions decreases by 22%, hydrocarbon content decreases by 10% and nitrous oxide content decreases by 11%.
Due to the detergent component of the active additive complex, if G-Drive fuel is used constantly, the amount of deposits in engine inlet valves and fuel injectors will decrease by more than ten-fold compared to standard fuel. G-Drive also prevents the formation of new deposits and protects the engine's fuel system from corrosion.
A friction modifier, a temperature-stable element, which is contained in G-Drive fuel, creates a protective film between the piston and the cylinder wall of the vehicle's engine, thus minimising friction and increasing overall engine efficiency. Independent tests in various makes of vehicle show that when using G-Drive fuel, the vehicle's engine power increased by 8.6%, and acceleration improved by 1.5 seconds.
"The launch of Gazprom Neft's own-brand fuel is the company's response to global trends in the oil-product retail sector and demonstrates a successful move to improve the quality of engine fuel, which is one of our long-term growth strategy goals", commented Alexander Dyukov, CEO of Gazprom Neft.
Gazprom Neft owns a chain of around 1,600 petrol stations located in Russia, the CIS and Europe. Following the acquisition of Sibir Energy and NIS (Serbia) and purchase of the petrol station in Kazakhstan and Tajikistan in 2009-2010, Gazprom Neft's network of stations was significantly expanded. The wide geography of existing network and the favourable locations of the Omsk, Moscow and Yaroslav oil refineries gives Gazprom Neft a leading position in the wholesale and retail markets in Western Siberia and Central Russia.
In 2010, sales of oil products through the company's petrol station network within Russia grew by 18% and amounted to 3,047,000,000 tonnes. The average sales of oil products through one petrol station grew by 11% to 10.1 tonnes per day.
