Domagoj Milosevic confirmed the intent of Croatia to take part in the South Stream. It was noted that the project feasibility study (FS) for Croatia would soon be submitted to Gazprom as a component of the consolidated FS for the gas pipeline.
Russian gas has been delivered to Croatia since 1978.
In 2010, according to provisional data, Gazprom supplied the country with more than 1.1 billion cubic meters of Russian gas.
In March 2010 Russia and Croatia signed the intergovernmental agreement for Croatia to join the South Stream project.
Pursuant to the document, it will depend on the national FS whether Gazprom and the authorized Croatian company, Plinacro d.o.o., will set up a joint project company (JPC) for further execution of South Stream in Croatia.
