The laser scanning procedure applied at reconstruction of projects makes it possible to exclude personnel admittance at dangerous areas and obtain the “real” picture. Basing on these data, the drawings, sections, plans can be prepared and 3D numerical models of the complicated geometrical shapes can be developed. Contact-free method of data acquisition considerably reduces labor contribution and work hours of field investigations.
At development of the model there is no need to input data into computer. This is carried out automatically and with the highest precision. The laser scanning allows for tracking out the deformations and zones of destruction at the object in due time by method of superposition of the models of observations obtained at different moments with a precision of up to 3mm. Thus, standard equipment of JSC “Institute Hydroproject” makes it possible to develop models with a precision unobtainable for traditional methods of measurements and to upgrade quality of engineering and reconstruction work preventing from extraordinary situations arising.
As it was stated by Mr. Pavel Shestopalov, General Director of JSC “Institute Hydroproject”, this procedure has been applied in JSC “RusHydro” for the first time: “Due to the vast scientific experience of the specialists of the Institute and innovative approach to the problems of engineering the procedure of laser scanning and 3D simulation has become the exclusive competence of JSC “Institute Hydroproject”.
In the nearest future the specialists of the Institute plan to carry out 3D scanning at the Zhiguli HPP within the frames of the HPP rehabilitation program.
