Telasi has already received full amount of the loan and will use it to finance its 2010-11 investment program including extension and overhaul of its low-voltage and medium-voltage grid and substations as well as automated commercial electricity accounting system deployment for remote grid monitoring.
Yuri PIMONOV, Telasi CEO, and Nandita Parshad, Director of the Power and Energy Utilities Team, EBRD, signed the financing agreement on December 15, 2010.
Telasi is one of the largest grid operators in Georgia providing electricity distribution and sales and serving the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi. Telasi provides electricity to more than 450 thousand consumers of which 52% are households, 38% are commercial customers, and 10% are public sector organizations and other consumers. Telasi operates electrical grid with a total length of 3633 kilometers and owns 0.4 kV to 110 kV networks, overhead and underground power lines, as well as electrical substations. Established in 1993, Telasi became a part of INTER RAO UES Group in August 2003. INTER RAO UES owns 75% of Telasi authorized stock, and the state owns approximately 25%.
