Vietgazprom prepares to carry out electrical exploration work

Апреля 25, 2011

The Joint Operating Company Vietgazprom is planning to start offshore electrical exploration work in blocks 129-132 in the southern part of the continental shelf of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The electrical exploration will be carried out by the research vessel Trias, with a technical and safety audit, which was conducted by Vietgazprom's contractor, Morskiye Geofisicheskiye Projekti (Offshore Geophysical Projects).
The offshore electrical exploration studies are being carried out with the aim of examining the priority structures revealed by seismic exploration, which will allow the presence of hydrocarbons to be forecast and a ranking according to their availability to be performed. These studies will allow risks to be reduced during subsequent deep drilling.
The implementation of electrical exploration work is provided for in the Oil-and-Gas contract for Blocks 129-132, concluded between VNG PetroVietnam, Gazprom, PVEP and Gazprom zarubezhneftegaz on 27 October 2008.
To date, 2-D seismic survey work and geochemical studies have been carried out in the blocks, and the processing and interpretation of the data received have been completed.
