OJSC "Turboatom" modernizes equipment Balakovo NPP (Russia)

In accordance with the contract "Turboatom" will replace turbine condenser capacity of 1000 MW with a copper-nickel tubes for cooling the condenser with stainless steel piping system. As a result of the work turbine capacity will increase by more than 5 MB. Also increase the life of the equipment, improve its reliability and safety.

The scope of the obligations of the enterprise includes design, procurement, contract supervision, participation in the commissioning, testing and introduction of the guarantee of the equipment.
Currently a contract is issued to production, completed the design work and placing orders for materials through external cooperation.
"Turboatom" is also planning to participate in the project to replace the capacitors on the seven-unit of Kalinin, Balakovo and Novovoronezh NPP, which will be implemented in Russia in the next five years. Similar works are expected to be held at Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
Balakovo NPP - Russia's largest producer of electricity. Every year it produces more than 30 billion kWh. hour of electricity. NPP provides a quarter of electricity production in the Volga Federal District and the fifth generation of Russian nuclear power plants. On all four units Balakovo NPP installed turbines manufactured by "Turboatom" 1000 MW each, delivery of the first turbine implemented in 1985, the fourth - in 1993.
