The memorandum was signed at the fifth session of Russia-Brazil High Commission presided by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir PUTIN and Brazilian Vice President Michel TEMER.
The memorandum creates a framework for joint research of electric power generation and transmission in Brazil's national and international markets, evaluation of opportunities for joint project delivery, and establishment of technological and economic partnership. In particular, the partners will review opportunities to expand export of Russian power industry equipment.
"Signing the Memorandum of Understanding with ELETROBRAS will enable INTER RAO UES to improve its posture in the Latin American electric power market and to deliver joint electric energy projects in Brazil as well as in regional and international markets," said Boris KOVALCHUK.
