The work is being led by the DMIGE-SOLITON consortium. The research vessel Trias has begun work on carrying out the electrical exploration and it processed 32 linear kilometres of component profiles on the first day.
The priority structures revealed by seismic exploration will be studied during the offshore electrical exploration studies, with the aim of forecasting the presence of hydrocarbons and ranking them according to their availability. This will allow risks to be reduced during subsequent deep drilling.
Blocks 129-132 are located in the South Konshon oil-and-gas field.
The oil-and-gas contract for blocks 129-132 was signed on 27 October 2008 between VNG PetroVietnam, Gazprom, PVEP and Gazprom zarubezhneftegaz. The project operator for the development of the blocks is the Joint Operating Company Vietgazprom.
2-D seismic survey work and geochemical studies were carried out in the blocks in 2010, and the processing and interpretation of the data received have so far been completed.
