Atomstroyexport held a workshop “Russian NPP designs: High Reliability and Safety” for Vientam’s nuclear organizations

The workshop is attended by about 40 institutes and organizations representing the Vietnamese energy sector. The Russian delegation is represented by organizations of the Russian nuclear industry, including, SPb AEP, OKB Gidropress, NRC Kurchatov Institute, Rosenergoatom Concern, and VNIIAES.
Director of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute Mr. Thuan addressed the attendees with opening remarks. He noted, safety issues are priorities during construction and operation of nuclear power plants. He expressed his certainty that the workshop organized by Atomstroyexport would allow Vietnamese specialists to have a better insight in advantages of safety systems of Russian design NPP.
In response, Leonid Yanko, Director of the Department for Marketing and Business Development of Atomstroyexport, thanked the Director of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute for the initiative to hold the workshop. “Such open dialogues facilitate development of interaction between Russia and Vietnam in the sphere of nuclear technologies, he said. “Major goal of our meeting is to provide Vietnamese colleagues maximum complete information about safety and reliability ensuring technologies of the Russian NPPs.”
The workshop speakers were representatives of Atomstroyexport, SPb AEP, OKB Gidropress and VNIIAES.
Summing up the workshop, the attendees noted high efficiency of the dialogue. The Vietnamese specialists could get answers to questions of their interest on safety systems of Russian design NPPs. While the Russian side, when analyzing and giving answers to questions of the Vietnamese partners, additionally specified wishes of the Vietnamese customer as regards safety and efficiency of future Nunh Thuan-1, the first nuclear power plant in Vietnam, which will be built to a Russian technology.
Atomstroyexport is the prime construction contractor of Ninh Thuan-1 NPP in Vietnam.
