IAEA Technical Meeting on Fast Reactors Fuels

IAEA Technical Meeting on Design, Manufacturing and Irradiation Behavior of Fast Reactors Fuels was held at the Institute of Physics and Power Engineering (Obninsk, Russian Federation). The key topics discussed by participants from Russia, France, South Korea, India, China and other countries were R&D programs on fast reactors fuels, perspectives on advanced fuels and core structural materials.

AKME's specialists and other participants of the SVBR project, which is one of the key elements of the Federal Target Programm "Nuclear Power Technologies of the New Generation for 2010-2015 and until 2020" aimed at new nuclear power technological platform development based on closed fuel cycle technologies and fast reactors, took an active part in working sessions of the Meeting. The Meeting ensured a possibility to establish new areas of international cooperation in the SVBR core structural materials development.
JSC "AKME-engineering" is a 50/50 joint venture between the State Atomic Corporation "Rosatom" and the largest privately owned Russian generating company EuroSibEnergo. The company was formed to develop and commercialize SVBR lead-bismuth fast reactor technology. The project is being realized in the framework of the Federal Target Programm "Nuclear Power Technologies of the New Generation for 2010-2015 and until 2020".
