The first stage of this strategy envisions construction of more than 20 BP highway service stations with overall investments of over 3 billion rubles.
TNK-BP plans to build highway service stations on key highways in the European part Russia, such as M10 “Moscow–Saint Petersburg”, M1 “Belarus”, M4 “Don”, M5 “Ural”, and M7 “Volga”. Multifunctional service zones with highway service stations, motels, extended technical services for vehicles, parking lots, camping areas, and other services will be constructed along highways M1 “Belarus” and M4 “Don” in cooperation with the state-owned company “Russian Highways.”
The service stations at the 171st km of federal highway M10 “Moscow–Saint Petersburg” were designed and built in a very short time under a cooperation agreement between the Administration of the Tver Region and TNK-BP with active support of Dmitry V. Zelenin, Governor of the Tver Region.
“Today, in Tver, we are opening a new-concept BP service station for providing a unique set of services to professional drivers and auto travelers. This event marks a new important stage in development of the Company’s retail business,” said Didier Baudrand, Executive Vice President, Downstream, TNK-BP. “TNK-BP is an acknowledged leader in construction and operation of service stations, and we are sure that our experience and knowledge will serve as a reliable basis for mutually partnership with the state for development of convenient and safe highways in Russia.”
In March last year Tver Region administration and TNK-BP signed an investment agreement for the construction of 15 service stations with a wide range of related services, along the Tver section of the highway between Moscow and St-Petersburg, Tver Region Governor Dmitry Zelenin said. – And now, the first service station is ready to welcome the customers. But it is only the beginning of a large investment project. My particular thanks go to the investor for attaching much importance to social programs and environmental security as major components of its business.
