Perm Engine Company will double the production output within 10 years

"Market analysis reveals that the demand of Perm Engine Company products will go on increasing, - remarked the managing director Aleksey Mikhalev at the meeting with journalists. - At present both the engine family PS-90A and industrial gas-turbine units family are popular at the market. Soon we'll start to implement the fifth generation engine PD-14. In short the volumes will increase but on the other hand the customers' requirements in respect of products quality will be hardened. We understand that the fifth generation engine needs the fifth generation factory that's why the development strategy means considerable upgrading of the enterprise. Common equipment replacement won't be enough. It's necessary to change the production principles, train the working staff and introduce new technologies".
Perm Engine Company upgrading will be accomplished in three directions: development of Processing competence centers working for the whole structure of United Engine Building Corporation (UEC), the current production and technologies improvement, technological park establishment.
Separate gas turbine blades manufacturing has already been established at the enterprise in the beginning of 2011. It has to be the basement of "Gas-Turbine Engines Blades" Processing competence center. It is planned to establish Processing competence center on combustion chambers and housings manufacturing till 2016. Assembling and repairing services will be reorganized and technologically upgraded and placed in Novye Lyady area. Moreover on this area it is planned to build two new test benches in addition to four active ones.
Production centers creation will afford to reduce the production manufacturing cycle, improve its quality and manufacturing processes controllability. Investments to the factory upgrading amount to approximately 15 billion rubles.
In the process of the factory reconstruction it is supposed to make free over 30% production areas which will be occupied by technological park. PMZ plans to establish the managing company "Technological Park "Perm Motors" which will provide the innovative enterprises with production areas and services at knockdown cost within three years. One of factory buildings situated in Marshrutnaya street, 1 is ready to be provided to technological park enterprises even today.
