This gain in output is attributable to successful implementation of the new construction investment program. Thus, in the 3rd quarter of 2011 the company commissioned 1,200 MW of new facilities at Surgutskaya GRES-2 and Yaivinskaya GRES. During 2011 the new 400 MW power unit was in operation at Shaturskaya GRES. Furthermore, since November 1, the capacity of Berezovskaya GRES has grown by 50 MW due to the upgrades project implemented on power unit one.
E.ON Russia’s 2011 sales of thermal power amounted to 1758,08 thousand GCal, which is 12.9% less than in 2010. This decrease was due to warmer weather in 2011 than in 2010.
