INTER RAO UES received orders to supply 400 MW to 500 MW of electric power to Ukraine between February 1 and February 5, 2012.
The Ukrainian partner has approached INTER RAO UES with this deal due to abnormally cold weather affecting the larger part of the country and causing shortage of electricity.
The partners are currently evaluating options to supply electricity from Moldova TPS to Southern and South-Western Ukraine.
