Mechel Reports Management Changes

Mechel OAO (NYSE: MTL), one of the leading Russian mining and metals companies, reports that Mukhamed Tsikanov left the post of Mechel OAO’s senior vice-president for economics and management.

Mukhamed Tsikanov, who was Mechel OAO’s senior vice-president for economics and management since January 2008, left his post due to accepting another appointment. Starting February 15, 2012, his responsibilities are transferred to Senior Vice-President for Economics and Management Oleg Korzhov, previously senior vice-president for business planning and analysis.

“Mukhamed Tsikanov is a true professional who has done a lot for Mechel. Despite our regret, we respect his desire to seek new challenges and new interesting projects,” Mechel’s Chief Executive Officer Yevgeny Mikhel noted.
