In particular, Rusatom Overseas joined the Nuclear Industry Association of South Africa (NIASA).
"We consider joining the NIASA an important event contributing to business development of State Corporation Rosatom in the prospective nuclear energy market of the RSA. We intend to expand our cooperation with the South African nuclear industry in order both to implement the large-scale program of AES (Nuclear Power Station) construction in the RSA and to use the high potential of South African companies in global projects of State Corporation Rosatom related to AES construction", — remarked Alexey Kalinin, the President of Rusatom Overseas.
Earlier Rusatom Overseas became a member of the Brazilian Association for the Development of Nuclear Activities (ABDAN). By now, the Russian company and the Association have approved the plan of cooperation in various spheres.
"Russian nuclear industry has the unique opportunity to offer its partners an integrated project based on referential, economically efficient and safe technologies. Our Brazilian partners are greatly interested in cooperation in nuclear sphere. Membership in ABDAN will enable us to cooperate with maximum efficiency", — said A. Kalinin.
"Our purpose is not only promotion of Russian technologies but also establishment of mutually beneficial interaction with foreign partners for joint implementation of projects all over the world. I am sure that joint work of nuclear specialists from many countries will enable us to offer new technological solutions which will contribute to development of nuclear power as a safe and efficient source of energy", — remarked the President of Rusatom Overseas.
Nuclear Industry Association of South Africa (NIASA) is an organisation established in 2007 in order to promote high standards in the sphere of nuclear technologies in South Africa. Its members are companies, groups and individuals including those operating in other industries that participate in implementation of nuclear industry development projects. The objective of the NIASA is to assist its members in formation of the uniform approach to various aspects of nuclear technology development in the RSA, joining their efforts in promotion of the safety culture, professional improvement of specialists of the sector as well as formation of the uniform policy related to interaction with state bodies of the RSA.
Brazilian Association for the Development of Nuclear Activities (ABDAN) was established in Rio de Janeiro on October 27, 1987 as a non-profit organisation being a union of the majority of strategic companies participating in implementation of Brazilian nuclear program. The Association promotes development and expansion of nuclear technologies in the country, stimulates scientific exchange among organisations and contributes to formation of a positive image of nuclear industry. At present, ABDAN unites about 30 companies of Brazil and other countries.
