INTER RAO Acquires Dominanta Engineering Group

INTER RAO UES Group acquired majority ownership (51% each) of Dominanta Energy and Dominanta Management. These companies comprise the Dominanta Engineering Group which is focused on development of distributed (localized) electric power generation and grid facilities as well as utility infrastructures.

Acquisition of Dominanta serves the purpose of developing small (primarily heat) generator construction and operation business. The engineering group is expected to design and build power plants using 6FA gas turbines (mid-sized power generating units for cogeneration) rated at 77 MW to be manufactured by the joint venture of General Electric, INTER RAO and United Engine Corporation.

"As the result, the Engineering Division of INTER RAO UES will have competencies required to build both large power facilities (through Quartz Group) and accomplish promising small-scale and distributed co-generation projects (through Dominanta Group)," said Yury SHAROV, Associate Chief Executive and Head of Engineering and Innovations Business Unit, INTER RAO UES. "With successful delivery of relevant projects, including joint projects with the world leaders in this industry, INTER RAO UES will attain an increasingly important role in the global engineering services market."
