The reconstruction of the two-train facility included the replacement of reactors, knockout drums, process equipment and heat exchangers. This has increased L-24-6 capacity almost by 30% to 2,200 thousand tons/year (previously 1,700 thousand tons/year).
“With the hydrotreater, Saratov Oil Refinery can now produce all types of diesel fuel with improved operating and environmental characteristics of Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards”, Vitaly Zuber, Director of TNK-BP Refining Department, said.
OJSC Saratov Oil Refinery was founded on April 27, 1934. Since 2003, it has been a part of TNK-BP. The company produces over 20 types of products: unleaded gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil of all key grades, bitumen, vacuum gasoil, technical sulfur, naphtha.
The upgrading of Saratov Oil Refinery is a part of the large-scale TNK-BP program to improve fuel quality at all Company’s refineries. In September 2011, Saratov Refinery started to produce AI-92 gasoline conforming to Euro-4 standard.
