DTEK Trading entered into a contract for coal supplies to Brazilian iron and steel plants belonging to the largest regional steel company, Gerdau. DTEK will deliver 50,000 tons of anthracite to South American ports by the end of this year. The Company is currently negotiating terms for cooperation with Brazilian partners in 2013. DTEK previously supplied anthracite coal to Brazil for Usiminas, Value, and ArcelorMittal; this new contract expands the company's presence in the South American country.
DTEK Trading was also actively working on entering African coal markets in August of this year. The company is delivered low volatile grade coal to a cement plant owned by Ethiopian Petroleum Enterprise (the Federal Republic of Ethiopia). DTEK plans to increase its volume of supplies and conclude new contracts with customers in Africa.
