The contracts cover the manufacturing, delivery, installation and commissioning of ECO 122 wind turbines in two wind complexes, located in the North-East of Brazil, as well as operation and maintenance of the turbines for 10 years.
The wind turbines will be produced at Alstom manufacturing unit in Camaçari (Bahia State) which opened in November 2011. The factory will have a 600 MW output capacity per year, with two work shifts.
The ECO 122 – a 2.7 MW onshore wind turbine - is the latest evolution of Alstom's proven ECO 100 turbine platform.
Alstom builds and operates wind farms globally – more than 2,300 turbines are currently installed or under construction in more than 130 wind farms, delivering over 3,200 MW. Alstom designs and manufactures onshore wind turbines in the range from 1.67 MW to 3 MW, providing solutions for all geographical and climate conditions.
