In Prague, within the framework of the Central European Nuclear Industrial Forum Atomex – Europe companies OJSC Atomenergomash and Chladici veze Praha and OJSC Moststroy №6 signed contracts for the basic project design of two cooling towers for Nizhny Novgorod NPP (power generating units №1, 2) and for the supply of the technological part of the cooling system for the cooling tower of Rostov NPP (power generating unit №4). The works are to be completed until the end of 2012 and the end of 2013 respectively.
“Actually, these two contracts mean an admission ticket to the Russian nuclear power market for us,” said the Director of Chladici veze Praha Lukas Chmel. “All this year we have been busy with the licensing procedures, and now we have obtained the first serious result. This is only the beginning of our work, which, I believe, will be followed by other potential orders,” he added.
“Even now, on account of unique engineering competences of Chladici veze Praha, OJSC Atomenergomash is ready to offer services for the delivery of technological equipment and lease of the equipment for the construction of cooling towers for nine power generating units, which are presently under construction in Russia and Belarus: Rostov, Kursk, Smolensk, Nizhniy Novgorod, Baltic and Ostrovets NPPs. The overall potential for the cooperation in this sphere only for the forthcoming 5 years makes up more than 60 million EUROS,” said Director of OJSC Atomenergomash Andrey Nikipelov.
Potential orders of Chladici veze Praha include the following: the detailed project for the cooling towers for the Nizhniy Novgorod NPP (with the estimated value of 0.8 million EUROS) and lease of equipment for the construction: single purpose mechanization, formwork plates, a crane, as well as provision of specialists (2-3 million euros).
During the previous year Chladici veze Praha also made several contracts at its traditional markets: for further construction of 4 cooling towers at Mochovce NPP in Slovakia (blocks 3, 4), repair of facilities at TPP Tuzla in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The company anticipates the growth of orders portfolio following the results of the year 2012 by half up to approximately 20 million EUROS, with the sales results at the year-end of approximately 19.9 million EUROS, which will exceed the result of year 2011 by 10%.
Chladici veze Praha, which specializes in the manufacture of industrial cooling products for nuclear and conventional energy sector, has been a part of the machine-building division of Rosatom – Atomenergomash since 2011. Within a period of 60 years the company has built most of the cooling towers for NPPs and TPPs in Czech and Slovak Republics, with references in Syria, Turkey, Iran, Peru, and Yugoslavia. Presently Chladici veze Praha is ready to implement all projects on a turnkey basis. The company is also designing and producing all types of cooling towers that have been certified by the Engineering Test Institute (Strojirensky zkusebni ustav, s.p.) at the manufacturing site in the city of Slanem.
In June, 2012 the Chladici veze Praha and OJSC Mostostroy №6 signed the cooperation agreement. The document outlines the main guidelines for cooperation in the sphere of design, construction and supply of equipment for nuclear power industry facilities. OJSC Mostostroy №6 has been taking part in the implementation of federal programs aimed at the development of nuclear power generation industry in Russia since 2009. The company carries out a complex of project and construction and assembly works on a turnkey basis related to the building of natural draught and evaporative cooling towers for Novovoronezh NPP-2 and Rostov NPP.
Rostov NPP is a branch of OJSC Concern Rosenergoatom. The enterprise is located on the shore of the Tsimlyanskoye Reservoir 13.5 kilometers from the city of Volgodonsk. The nuclear power plant operates two power generating units with WWER-1000 type reactors with the total capacity of 1,000 MW. Power generating unit №1 was put into commercial operation in 2001, power generating unit №2 - in December, 2010. The construction of power generating units №№3, 4, which are scheduled to be commissioned in 2014 and 2017 respectively, is under way.
The Nizhniy Novgorod NPP is a future nuclear power station to be located in Navashinsky district of Nizhniy Novgorod region. Currently the design and exploration works have been rolled out in pursuance of the Terms of validity of the licenses for deployment and in respect of development of project documentation for Nizhniy Novgorod NPP. The first phase of the station will consist of two WWER -TOI design units. The capacity of each unit will make up about 1200 MW.
