In 2010, for the shipment of oversized items Izhorskie Zavody constructed cargo dock on the Neva river in Ust-Slavyanka village. For the first time VVER-1200 was shipped by water in 2012 for Novovoronezhskaya NPP-2.
The contract for the manufacture and supply of power equipment for NPP-2, which is being built to replace the existing facilities of the Leningrad nuclear power plant, was signed in 2008. Under the contract Izhorskie Zavody will deliver corps equipment for two units: the housing reactor internals, the upper blocks and pressure compensators.
NPP-2 is built under the NPP-2006 project, which is an evolutionary of the well-known Russian power plant with pressurized water nuclear reactors. The service life of power units, built by AES-2006 is raised to 60 years. This is the second VVER-1200, produced by Izhorskie Zavody.
