Enel, through its Greek renewables subsidiary Enel Green Power Hellas S.A. (EGPH), has started construction of the Kafireas wind power complex located on the southern part of Greece’s Evia island, in the municipality of Karistos. Once completed, the new facility will have a total installed capacity of 154 MW and will be the country’s largest wind farm.

The technology group Wärtsilä today announced it would supply a power plant extension to AngloGold Ashanti's gold mine in Siguiri, Guinea. This turnkey project consists of three 20-cylinder Wärtsilä 32TS engines running on heavy fuel oil. They will be connected to the existing power plant at site, also supplied by Wärtsilä.
