OAO Gazprom priced USD 1 billion of loan participation notes due November 29, 2015. The notes were issued by Gaz Capital S.A., a Luxembourg special purpose vehicle, under Gazprom's Loan Participation Note Programme.

Bob Dudley, BP's Chief Executive, has welcomed the achievement of a major production target in Iraq by the Rumaila Operating Organisation (ROO), of which BP is a major shareholder. The ROO has met a major milestone in the re-development of the super-giant field in Southern Iraq, increasing production by more than 10 per cent above the initial production rate.

Antimatter caught streaming from thunderstorms on Earth

A space telescope has accidentally spotted thunderstorms on Earth producing beams of antimatter. Such storms have long been known to give rise to fleeting sparks of light called terrestrial gamma-ray flashes. But results from the Fermi telescope show they also give out streams of electrons and their antimatter counterparts, positrons.
