E.ON closes sale of UK distribution business to PPL Corporation

E.ON has finalized the sale of its UK distribution business, Central Networks, to a subsidiary of PPL Corporation, Allentown, Pennsylvania (PPL). The purchase price of £4 billion GBP (€4.7 billion) for 100 percent of the enterprise value includes £500 million of existing debt.

Gazprom Neft launches its own brand of fuel - G-Drive

Gazprom Neft has launched a new motor fuel under the brand of G-Drive, which it will sell through its own network of petrol stations. The sales of the premium-class fuel has already commenced at petrol stations in St Petersburg. By the end of 2011, Gazprom Neft plans to make the new engine fuel G-Drive available at petrol stations in all key regions where the company operates.

The annual General Meeting of Shareholders of Energougol ENE OJSC passed the resolution on changing the name of the company to comply with the Law of Ukraine ‘On Joint-Stock Companies’. Energougol ENE Open-Joint Stock Company was renamed to DTEK Energougol ENE Public Joint-Stock Company by majority of votes.

RusHydro Opens Bid Book for 15 Billion Rubles of Bonds

JSC RusHydro (ticker symbol: RTS, MICEX, LSE: HYDR; OTCQX: RSHYY) announces the start of accepting bids for nonconvertible interest bearing 10-year ruble bonds of series 01 and 02 with a nominal volume RUR 10 billion each. The placement volume will total RUR 15 billion with one issue placed only in half. The put date is in 5 years.

E.ON further expands its renewable-power capacity

E.ON installed and successfully tested the first of 94 turbines of Settlers Trail wind farm. Located in Illinois, Settlers Trail will be the fourteenth wind farm E.ON has built in the United States in just three years. With 150 megawatts (MW) of capacity, it will be able to supply more than 45,000 households with clean electricity.
