Visund leak stopped

The gas leak that was reported at the Visund platform this morning was confirmed stopped just before 1pm today. Preparations are underway to return the personnel evacuated to Gullfaks C and "Safe Scandinavia" to Visund.

The current situation on the Visund platform is that 60 people remain on the platform after the remainder were flown to nearby installations. 39 persons were sent by helicopter to the floatel "Safe Scandinavia" and 24 persons were sent to Gullfaks C.

The German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) and Spanish utility company Endesa inaugurated a direct solar steam generation and energy storage pilot plant at Carboneras, located in southern Spain. In this type of solar power plant, steam is produced directly from concentrated solar radiation and used to drive a generator.

OJSC "Turboatom" (Ukraine) carried out the test of the runner No 1 diameter of 4.75 m of radial-axial hydro turbine for Nurek HPP (Tajikistan). In the presence of the customer's specialists of "Turboatom" spent balancing of the runner, geometry control, dye penetrated and ultrasonic testing of welds.
