Andrey Galaev, Sakhalin Energy CEO, was elected Chairman of UNGC Network Russia Steering Committee. Mr. Galaev was nominated for the post by UN Development Programme (UNDP) Representation in the Russian Federation. The nomination was supported by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and unanimously approved by Steering Committee members.

In Quito, the capital of Ecuador, there were held negotiations between Mexican Company Technoproject S.A. representatives and specialists of JSC «Institute Hydroproject», incorporated in «RusHydro» Holding Company. According to Alexander Fink, the Director of International Activities, by the end of March, 2011, it is planned to complete Feasibility Study for cascade of HPPs «Тоrtugo», «El Tigre» and «Llurimaguas» on the Guayllabamba River in the Republic of Ecuador.

E.ON making rapid progress implementing new strategy

At the presentation of E.ON’s 2010 results, E.ON CEO Johannes Teyssen announced that the company has already reached several milestones in implementing its new strategy. By selling its Gazprom stake, gas network in Italy, and power network in United Kingdom and by concluding other transactions, E.ON has, since November 2010, already achieved almost €9 billion of its €15 billion divestment target.

Gazprom Neft completes seismic survey work on the Equatorial Guinea shelf

Gazprom Neft has completed 3-D seismic survey work on the Equatorial Guinea shelf (block T) in the Niger Delta river basin. The seismic studies covered around 300 square kilometres of the block's area, which meets the company's commitments regarding the Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) under whose conditions the project is being carried out.

Patent No. 18931 has been issued by the Committee on Intellectual Property Rights of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and it is the basis of legal support for the export of drives and the sale of licenses, also providing for an international priority of OAO TATNEFT’s technical solution.

Siemens strengthens its position in the subsea power market

Siemens has entered into an agreement to acquire the two subsea specialists Poseidon Group AS and Bennex Group AS from Subsea Technology Group AS, Norway. Poseidon provides subsea marinization, engineering and consulting, and has a workforce of 140 employees and consultants in Stavanger and Aberdeen.
